Artists requirements for submission
First, you must fill out a simple submission form by going to: https://subscribepage.io/New_Artists
After we view your art, we will let you know if you are selected within a few days. If so, a link will be emailed to you for an upload folder for your files and photos.
We will need the following information:
- 10-15 photos of your work. Pick your best stuff and name the photos the title of the paintings.
- A head and shoulder shot of you as the artist. You can also in addition send in a studio shot of you working but this is optional.
- A document file (Word, office writer, etc.) with the names of the photos and media of each (acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, oil, etc.). We will put a caption under each photo of the name of the artwork and media.
- Al bio of 300 words or less that describes you and your art. You can include history, education, what motivates you or whatever you want to say about yourself or your art. We want the readers to get to know the artist as well as their art.
- We will need Contact information such as websites, web-store, social media links and email. We will add this to the article so readers who are interested in your art can contact you for purchases or commissions or simply to say hello.
Unfortunately for some reason some artists never upload their stuff (THIS IS WHY THE ARTIST FEE IS UNREFUNDABLE.) Maybe they changed their mind, maybe they had trouble uploading; maybe they think because it's not legit. Whatever the reason, this holds up the layout time and hinders the publishing date. Therefore, we will only hold the folder for one week. if nothing is uploaded by then we will delete your folder to make space for another artists folder. Also, placement is first come, first serve. the quicker you get your files in the closer you are placed to the front of the magazine.
-A page proof will be sent to you when the layout is done so you can check to make sure all information is correct and all links work.
