Alcohol Ink
Stainglass Couple
I wanted to create a stain glass look, so I cut two panels of white laminated wood (since alcohol ink works only on very smooth surfaces) and I outlined the images on each panel with black fabric paint. which is raised and gives it a three-dimensional look. Then I painted in between the lines with alcohol ink which is very hard to control but also very vibrant. I painted this as my wife and I looking young but with gray hair to represent us growing from youth to our old age!

Oasis
Experiment in chaos
Alcohol reacts similarly to poured acrylic paint when you add silicone or oil, it creates wonderful cells but is extremely difficult to control direction making it nearly impossible to paint with. I struggled a bit but managed to get an assemblage of a painting on melamine wood. The second image was a test piece to see the reaction and had intended to throw it away but my wife who likes modern art rescued it from my shop! Go figure!
