"Lighthouse Cliff"
Relief painting is one of my favorite types of painting. It is the process of adding material to the canvas to build up part of it to add dimension to the painting. Long before there was digital 3D printing and 3D digital software, there relief paintings. The Egyptians used it, the Greeks and nearly all ancient civilizations. It could be the carving of an image on a wall to the adding of plaster to a fresco. I usually use clay, plaster of Paris or drywall compound to achieve the effect. It is like a cross between painting and sculpturing and adds depth to the painting. Below are some of my relief paintings prints that are for sale. Click on image to see price and options!
